Alzheimer's

With all of the hoopla surrounding President Reagan's death this week, I've been reminded of my grandmother, who passed away about two years ago after suffering from the disease for several years.

I had heard a little about the disease before my grandmother had it, but had no idea the far-reaching and debilitating effects it can have. Someone you think you know well, they change once Alzheimer's has run its course. And unfortunately, it's never a pretty sight.

Anyways, the two charities I generally support are The Alzheimer Society of Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society. Might be time to pull out the checkbook again...
